What is Biliopancreatic Diversion Doudenal Switch?

It is a complex procedure that induces weight loss by a sleeve gastrectomy and intestinal bypass. By means of a sleeve gastrectomy, a sizable portion, 60- 70%, of the stomach is removed to form the shape sleeve. The first part of the small intestine, duodenum, is divided and reattached to the lower intestine called the ileum. The intestinal bypass begins at the Duodenal, whence the name is derived.
